Celebrate Your Favorite Teacher with a Little Note - May Newsletter

Hey Friends!

The sunshine is peeking in, the school year’s winding down, and my dog is tracking garden dirt through the house like it’s his full-time job.

Spring is definitely here—and with it, all those little reminders to pause and say thank you to the people who show up for us.

Before I became the artist and stationery-maker behind Frances Simone Design, I taught middle school English and worked in special education. And this time of year? Whew. It was joyful, chaotic, and often exhausting.

What meant the most wasn’t the big, elaborate gifts—it was the handwritten notes, the tiny pieces of art, and the moments when a student simply said, “Thanks for listening.” I kept a little envelope at my desk labeled “Smile File” to help me get through those long, end-of-year days.

That’s part of why I created this kit.

Free Printable Thank-You Card + Writing Activity
From the Little Letters – Teacher Appreciation Kit, this freebie includes a fill-in-the-blank note and coloring card that helps kids say thanks in their own words.

New on the Blog:
“Meaningful End-of-Year Teacher Gifts (That Aren’t Mugs)”
It’s full of thoughtful, personal ideas that go beyond the usual.

Want to make your child’s note extra special?
I offer personalized flat notecards that are printed and shipped with care by me.
They’re simple, sweet, and ready to gift.

Last month, we celebrated National Card & Letter Writing Month together!
I challenged myself to write a card or letter each day following the chart I shared. As I am wont to do, I bit off more than I could chew. However, I did send 10 birthday cards and completed 15 of the 30 challenge prompts. All in all I touched about 25 lives through this challenge and that's a win in my book!

I’d love to know—did you send any special notes or letters? Hit reply and tell me! I always love hearing your stories.

Thanks, as always, for being here. Whether you're printing one little note or planning the sweetest end-of-year teacher gift, I’m cheering you on from my messy, paper-filled desk.

Happy Writing,
Fran 💛

Hello friends, The world’s been a little much lately, hasn’t it? So I’m leaning into the small things that still feel good — writing a note, sharing a meal, saying thank you just because. November feels like the perfect time to celebrate those quiet moments of gratitude that happen around kitchen tables and in mailboxes. You might notice something new: Wonderfolds has become Folded Memories. Turns out Hallmark already had a line by that name (because of course they did). After a small...

Hello friends, Fall has always been my favorite time of year. Midwest born and bred, I can’t resist the crunch of leaves underfoot, that soft golden light, and those cool mornings that call for a Pumpkin Spice Latte instead of a second cup of coffee. It’s also my birthday month — which feels like the perfect excuse to celebrate with a few thoughtful treats for you. Before we dive in, a quick note: you might see my emails coming from a new address → hello@francessimonedesign.com. Please add it...

Hey Friends! There’s something about September that feels like a gentle reset. January may get all the attention for fresh starts, but I’ve always thought this month has its own kind of magic — cooler mornings, new rhythms, and the quiet reminder that we can begin again anytime. Wildflower Mornings Notecards As routines settle back in, I find myself reaching for simple tools that keep me grounded. The Wildflower Meadow Notecards & Journal are one of my favorites this time of year — whether...
